Do I qualify to be a Surrogate?

Surrogate Mother Requirements

Please review the following minimum qualifications to become a gestational surrogate with Heart and Soul Surrogacy. 

 Our qualifications are based on the 2022 ASRM guidelines and our experience with nationwide IVF clinics' typical requirements.

Citizenship Requirements

• A citizen of the United States.
• Resident of a surrogacy-friend state.
• Consent from you and your spouse/partner to undergo background checks.
• Consent from you and your spouse/partner to undergo psychological evaluations.

Health Requirements

• 21 to 37 years old.
• Have given birth to at least one child.
• • All pregnancies were uncomplicated.
• Not currently pregnant
• A body mass index (BMI) of 18-34 [CDC - BMI Calculator]
• Willing to take medications that require injections.
• No history of mental health issues. 

Financial Requirements

• Not participating in any public assistance programs.  
• • Unique situations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• You and your spouse/partner willing to undergo a background check and employment verification.

Lifestyle Requirements

• Support of your family and partner.
• Not currently in divorce proceedings.
• Wiling to stop consuming alcohol during pregnancy.
  
• No drug use or smoking.
• Stable home environment.
